- Compact Growth: Alyssum plants grow in compact mounds, making them ideal for edging, rock gardens, hanging baskets, and containers.
- Long Blooming Season: These hardy annuals provide continuous blooms from spring until the first frost, offering long-lasting beauty in your garden.
- Easy to Grow: Suitable for gardeners of all levels, alyssum thrives in a variety of soils and requires minimal care.
Planting Instructions:
- Soil Preparation: Choose a location with well-drained soil. Alyssum prefers full sun to partial shade and tolerates a range of soil types.
- Sowing Seeds: Direct sow seeds outdoors after the last frost date. Scatter seeds on the soil surface and lightly press them in without covering, as they need light to germinate.
- Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist until seedlings emerge. Water regularly to maintain even moisture but avoid waterlogging.
- Growing: Thin seedlings to 6-8 inches apart once they reach 2-3 inches in height. For continuous blooms, remove spent flowers (deadheading) regularly.
- Maintenance: Alyssum is relatively low-maintenance but benefits from a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer applied every few weeks. Mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
