Here’s why our White Lotus Seeds are the perfect choice for your water garden:
Key Features:
- Exquisite Blooms: Enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of large, fragrant white flowers that rise gracefully above the water, creating a stunning visual impact.
- Symbolic Beauty: Revered in many cultures, the lotus symbolizes purity, enlightenment, and rebirth, adding a touch of spiritual significance to your garden.
- Lush Foliage: The broad, rounded leaves provide a lush, green backdrop to the vibrant blooms, creating a balanced and harmonious aquatic environment.
- Aquatic Resilience: Adaptable to a variety of water conditions, white lotuses thrive in ponds, water gardens, and containers, making them versatile for different aquatic settings.
- Perennial Growth: As hardy perennials, white lotuses return year after year, offering long-lasting beauty with minimal maintenance.
Planting Instructions:
- Seed Preparation: To enhance germination, carefully scarify the seeds by filing a small notch into the hard outer shell, being careful not to damage the inner seed. Soak the scarified seeds in warm water for 24-48 hours until they swell.
- Sowing: Fill a container with heavy garden soil or clay. Plant the swollen seeds about 1-2 inches deep in the soil. Place the container in a sunny location where it can receive at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily.
- Watering: Gradually fill the container with water until the soil is submerged by 2-4 inches. Maintain the water level as the seedlings grow, ensuring the young plants are always covered with water.
- Transplanting: Once the seedlings have developed several leaves and are strong enough to handle, transplant them to their final location in a pond or larger water garden. Ensure the water depth is appropriate for mature lotus plants, typically 12-18 inches.
Care Tips:
- Sunlight: White lotuses require full sun to thrive. Ensure they receive at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight daily for optimal growth and blooming.
- Water Quality: Maintain clean water by periodically removing debris and ensuring good circulation. Avoid chlorinated water, as it can harm the plants.
- Fertilizing: Use aquatic plant fertilizer tablets, placing them in the soil near the roots every 4-6 weeks during the growing season to promote healthy growth and abundant blooms.
- Winter Care: In colder climates, protect the lotus tubers by bringing them indoors or placing them in deeper water where they won’t freeze.
